How to enable Carrier Service API?

For the application to work, the Carrier Service API feature must be enabled in the store.

Without the Carrier Service API our app (or any other app that modifies shipping options) cannot add new shipping methods, so it won't be able to display available parcel lockers.

It can be enabled in three possible ways:

  1. Pay for Shopify for a year in advance with a 10% discount (recommended) - contacting Shopify will be necessary after payment
  2. Upgrade your subscription to Advanced Shopify ($299 / mo.) - this feature will activate automatically
  3. Purchase the above mentioned feature as an option for $20 / mo. - please contact Shopify for purchase

Note: We do not receive any compensation from Shopify based on the costs icurred by you for the aforementioned services. We actively encourage Shopify to provide them free of charge for the sellers in all plans.

Option 1 - Paying for Shopify in advance for a year

  1. Log in as the store owner.
  2. In the Shopify admin panel click on Settings, then on Plan and permissions.
  1. Choose the Compare plans option.
  2. Click on Change your billing period (If you can't see the Change your billing period button , you can't extend the billing period).
    If you can't see the link, select the plan you are currently on and click on  Choose this plan.
  3. When the confirmation window appears, choose the appropriate billing cycle.
  4. Click on the Start plan button, to confirm your new plan.
  5. The plan has been changed to yearly billing. Now please contact Shopify customer service.
  6. Click here to start chatting with Shopify customer service.
  7. You can use the following template to message us:
Hello, I just switched to Annual billing and I would like to have Carrier-Calculated Shipping enabled in my store.

The Shopify Guru will inform you once the new feature is activated. You can check whether this feature is enabled right now.

Option 2 - Changing your plan to Advanced Shopify

  1. Log in as the store owner.
  2. In the Shopify admin panel click on Settings, then on Plan and permissions.
  3. Next to Advanced Shopify - Click on  Upgrade plan.
  4. Click on Upgrade plan once more to continue.
  5. Select a billing cycle
  6. Click on Confirm changes, to confirm your new plan.
  7. The feature will be enabled automatically

Option 3 - Purchasing the feature for $20/mo.

  1. Log in as the store owner.
  2. Click here to start chatting with Shopify customer service.
  3. You can use the following template to message us:
Hello, I would like to add $20/mo Carrier-Calculated Shipping feature to my store plan.

Thank you.

Shopify Guru will inform you about adding $20 USD monthly to your Shopify plan. You can check whether this feature is enabled right now.

How to check whether the Carrier Service API feature is enabled?

To check whether the feature has been activated:

  1. Go to Settings > Shipping
  2. Next to Carrier accounts and fulfillment services click on Manage integrations

If the following message appears: If you have an existing account with a shipping carrier, connect it to your store to use your own rates - this means that the feature is enabled. You can now use the InPost Lockers app!

If the following message appears: Your current plan doesn't offer this feature - this means that the feature is disabled
